Chemical peels have been used for centuries. In fact, women in ancient Egypt used to cover their faces in yogurt, the fruit acids of which results in the regeneration of younger, healthier skin. Drs. Farah and their aesthetician offer a wide array of peels from light to aggressive, depending on one’s need. The result is a more youthful, refreshed look.
Chemical peels still work much the same way and can improve the appearance of skin marked by wrinkles, fine lines, freckles, dark blotches or other signs of aging or sun damage. They can be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands, arms and legs.
A chemical peel is a non-surgical procedure that removes damaged surface skin cells and stimulates the growth of new, healthy skin cells. Peels are performed by the application of an acidic solution to the skin for a period of time. This causes the “exfoliation” or removal of damaged surface-layer skin cells, revealing the fresh skin underneath while stimulating the growth of new cells. The result is a more youthful, refreshed look. The type of chemical used and the degree of exfoliation needed (superficial, medium or deep) are determined by the physician in accordance with your skin type and desired result.
Our medical aestheticians have received specialized training to perform Skinceuticals chemical peels that yield optimal results for a host of skin concerns, including acne, pigmentation concerns, fine lines and wrinkles, and more. These peels are performed in conjunction with dermaplaning.
